CHICAGO – A trio of College of Chicago student-athletes earned Athlete of the Week honors from the College Athletic Affiliation (UAA) on Monday.
For the third time this season, Garrett Clasen was named the UAA Males’s Swimmer of the Week. At UChicago’s Midwest Invitational, Clasen broke the pool report and faculty report within the 100-yard IM with a time of 49.07. That mark was lower than one-tenth of a second off the NCAA Division III report. Moreover, his successful 100-yard butterfly time (47.89) ranks twelfth nationally and his 200-yard butterfly time (1:50.33) was additionally an NCAA B-cut.
Marina Semple was chosen because the UAA Girls’s Area Athlete of the Week after her season-best effort on the Margaret Bradley Invitational. The Maroon rookie gained the lengthy leap with a leap of 5.74 meters, which at present ranks third in all of NCAA Division III.
