Final evening (Jan. 14, 2023), after UFC Vegas 67, Final Fighter Championship (UFC) President Dana White introduced that Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman 3 is official for UFC 286 on Mar. 18.
“Leon Edwards and Usman is finalized. After which [Justin] Gaethje and [Rafael] Fiziev are the co-main occasion for that combat in London,” White advised the media throughout the UFC Vegas 67 press convention. “Completed. Each of these fights are executed.”
Edwards (20-3) spectacularly captured the UFC welterweight title final August when he knocked Usman out within the fifth spherical of their combat at UFC 278 with a head kick. (Watch highlights!) The knockout over Usman prolonged his unbeaten streak to 10 fights.
Usman (20-2) will look to reclaim the title he held for 4 years and defended 5 instances. The knockout loss at UFC 278 snapped his 15-fight win streak.
The pair of welterweights first confronted off in 2015, through which Usman gained the combat by way of unanimous resolution.
