Zak Cummings and Ed Herman have earned a whole lot of respect over time.
That was evident on Saturday because the MMA world reacted to the longtime veterans asserting their retirement following a three-round battle at UFC Kansas Metropolis. Cummings received a convincing unanimous choice, but it surely turned out to be a particular second for each males as they laid their gloves down within the octagon in entrance of an appreciative crowd.
Their fellow fighters have been appreciative too, with former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and UFC welterweight Michael Chiesa each weighing in on social media.
Chiesa known as Cummings and Herman “two absolute warriors” and he thanked Herman for being a pioneer for MMA within the pacific northwest. Herman, a local of Vancouver, Wash., made his professional debut in 2003 and has fought for the UFC since 2006.
Weidman summed the second up proudly, writing, “Solely in our sport do you see one of these love between two fighters who have been simply making an attempt to kill one another.”
