‘Poatan’ Alex Pereira is seeking to get again within the octagon to defend his middleweight throne towards ‘The Reaper’ Robert Whittaker. Whittaker is the previous UFC middleweight champion and Brazil’s Pereira needs a bit of him in Could 2023.
Alex Pereira is a heavy-handed Brazilian striker. Most not too long ago, he captured the UFC middleweight crown towards Israel Adesanya by way of fifth-round knockout. Previous to that was a two-division GLORY Kickboxing world champion. In each kickboxing and MMA, ‘Poatan’ is famed for his knockout energy.
Robert Whittaker is a former UFC champion who has one of the crucial spectacular resumes at middleweight. The Australian fighter has spectacular wins over ‘Jacare’ Ronaldo Souza, Yoel Romero, Jared Cannonier, Marvin Vettori, and Darren Until, amongst others.

In an interview with MMA Preventing, the Brazilian middleweight world champion defined what he needs for his first title protection. He defined:
“I see these two guys [next]. Adesanya was a dominant champion so he has the choice to be competing for the belt once more, but when he doesn’t need that, will probably be Whittaker. I don’t assume they’ll put another person in apart from Whittaker. He already stated his recreation doesn’t match nicely with Adesanya however could be a very good battle with me, so I’ll be prepared for each.”
But when the previous champion Adesanya needs one other match, ‘Poatan’ is comfortable to satisfy him. Alex Pereira continued:
“I gained’t do something to harm Adesanya’s plans and keep away from this battle. If that’s what he needs, we’ll battle. If for some cause he doesn’t need to battle me, that makes no distinction to me, it’ll be Whittaker as a substitute.
