Aaron Rodgers is formally again on U.S. soil.
Rodgers, the 40-year-old quarterback of the Jets, missed the staff’s necessary minicamp earlier this month with what head coach Robert Saleh deemed an “unexcused absence,” and rumors had been that the quarterback was abroad someplace.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who was Rodgers’ former teammate on the Packers, joined “The Herd” on FS1 on Thursday and advised host Jason McIntyre that he was understanding with the quarterback within the Los Angeles space on Wednesday.
“Me and Aaron have been nice mates since I had been in Inexperienced Bay. I hit him up, advised him I used to be popping out to LA, and stated, ‘Let’s run some routes,’” Valdes-Scantling stated.
“So we bought it in. Went out to some highschool and ran some routes collectively. We’re good. It was good.”
McIntyre, a longtime Jets fan, responded, “All of the New York media can stand down. Aaron Rodgers is again from Egypt! It’s not a secret anymore!”
Valdes-Scantling performed with the Packers from 2018-21, then spent two years on the Chiefs, profitable Tremendous Bowl championships with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid each seasons.
This offseason, Valdes-Scantling signed a one-year take care of the Payments value as much as $4.5 million.
A day after Saleh stated that Rodgers’ absence from camp was unexcused, he tried to easy issues over.
“Aaron and I are on the very same web page,” Saleh stated. “There’s no situation between Aaron [and I] or his teammates for that matter. We addressed it [Tuesday]. It’s extra of a difficulty for everybody outdoors the constructing than it’s inside. That’s about it.”
