BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns reserve linebacker Jacob Phillips suffered a torn pec in Friday’s exhibition loss and can miss the season, coach Kevin Stefanski stated Saturday.
Stefanski stated Phillips, a former starter who completed final season on injured reserve due to a pectoral harm, tore the muscle within the third quarter of the Browns’ 17-15 loss to the Washington Commanders.
Stefanski stated the newest harm is on the other aspect from final season, and he would require surgical procedure..
“It is the worst a part of this recreation, seeing guys get injured and particularly you see how laborious they work,” Stefanski stated. “So it hurts. I damage for Jacob, and for this reason we’re teammates and why we assist one another.”
Phillips, who has been restricted to only 20 video games over the previous three seasons because of accidents, was battling for a roster spot behind Anthony Walker and Sione Takitaki at inside linebacker.
