That is Monday, September 25, 2023.
That is a simple day or a restoration day.
I discovered this from the late Arthur Lydiard, who drilled into me the necessity for simple days. I’d break up my runs on straightforward days into two very relaxed runs. The 1968 Olympic US marathoner Ron Daws, a Lydriard apostle, was my savior. I learn his Self-Made Olympian (1972-RW Publications) and memorized his coaching plans.
As you start to race now, your straightforward days are at a quicker tempo than in mid-summer, so keep conscious and maintain it mellow. I recall early summer time at a 7-minute tempo and late summer time and fall 6 minutes on the lengthy runs, which was average.
Maintain it straightforward immediately! We could have a great exercise tomorrow.
Your exercise immediately: Heat-up, 45-55 minutes straightforward 6x150m stride-outs, cooldown
P.S. When Joe Mangan and I coached at Foothill Faculty, our decathlete was quantity 5 in cross nation! Cross-country helps everybody!
